ROW 80: Round 3 – Automatic

Round 3 already.  Wow!  This year is going by fast…

Simply put, my goals for this round are:

1. To write 1,800 words per day.

2. To write 5 pages a day of my script on my scheduled writing days (of which there are four of these days every week).

3.  On the paranormal revision (1st Draft): complete a read-through, editing, taking notes and making changes.

These goals are the same ones I had for the last round of Row 80.  I’m posting them again because they feel reasonable and doable and I’m aiming for consistency more than anything in this round.  If I can consistently write 1800 words a day, 20 pages of my script per week along  with work through my revision until it’s completed, progress will be made.  Books and scripts will be completed and my work will be ready to be sent to readers, agents and editors.

Consistency, for me, is key.  Especially when life with three young children happens.  I won’t get anything done, I believe, if I’m not consistent.  There’s just too many things going on in my life.  I want to get to a place – especially with my daily word count – where I am doing it automatically, like brushing my teeth everyday.

Consistent.  Automatic. Me.  This Round.

Can’t wait to read what all the rest of you ROW80ers are up to!  Hello Round 3!

  1. I love that you are going for consistency. It sounds like exactly the perfect thing for you, at this point.

And I fully understand about life with kids (my strategy is to roll with the flow, regroup in the ebb, and generally ride the waves as they come; but then i tend to live all of life that way, and, this month, I don’t think I could do anything else, really, anyway…July is…well, tricky, for me).

I will be in to see how you are doing as Automatic Melanie, as I delve my superpowers as Deepening Shan….you can read my goals at http://shanjeniah.com/2012/07/02/rowing-into-my-deeps-rownd-three-goals/
