I can’t believe another two weeks have gone by…Wow!
Losing track of time as I focus on trying to get my daily word count in for NaNo and for my ROW 80 goal. Unfortunately, I have fallen behind with my NaNo word count – about 20,000 words behind but I’m not giving up. I’m just going to keep pushing myself to get as much down as I can in this last week of NaNo.
For last year’s NaNo I made it to just over 30,000 words, so even though my goal is still 50,000 words, if I make it past 30,000 words this go round, I’ll consider it a victory because I topped last year’s count. So crossing my fingers. In the midst of book review deadlines and motherhood, I’m hoping to get a bunch accomplished.
Haven’t touched my two revisions in awhile or put words down on a script that I’m working on. My writing times have been inconsistent but I’m hoping to get back into the groove again as the holidays end. Of course, we’re having major company over the Christmas holiday which means major house prepping for me in additional to all the other things in my schedule, but I’m going to take a deep breath and trust. Trust that there will be time to really make progress with this writing. I’d really like to complete the revisions and get them out to readers.
But one thing at a time…
Wishing you ROW80ers much progress and many words written this week!
It’s been all about NaNo these days. I’m striving to reach that daily word count of 1,667 per day which falls into my ROW 80 goal of reaching 2000 words per day. I’m a little behind but feel in a good enough place to catch up. The draft I’m working on is a sci-fi thriller/mystery which I’m getting excited about though I find myself struggling at times to fill in the gaps of my story. I’m in love with the characters though and can’t wait to see where this story leads.
Though NaNo has been consistent, the revising/editing of two of my other novel drafts has not. It’s been barely existent which makes me sad. My writing times have not been uninterrupted and the priorities of other life stuff have intruded. I’m hoping to get back on track this week with my writing schedule – sticking to those writing times like glue.
ROW80ers, how has your progress been?
I have been having those creepy little doubts about being a published author, working screenwriter, etc. etc. I’m forty-*cough* and I find myself wondering if it will ever happen to me. Especially as I read other books that are sooo good. So good. Could I ever be as good as them? Not to mention that novel writing process can be a long one, so by the time I’m done will it have been years from now before I get a book published? These are just the thoughts that have been running through my head lately. I’m making every effort to fight them and to keep at it.
So I continue…
Wishing all you ROW80ers a week of words and progress!
Another two weeks have gone by since my last post? That’s bizarre. I didn’t realize it had been that long since my last post. It seems like I just wrote one down a week ago.
Lately, the writing has been consistent. I am doing NaNoWriMo this month, so I’m back at it for the third year in a row: 50,000 words, 30 days. That’s about 1,667 words per day. It is starting off pretty well. I’ve been making my daily word count since Day 1, which is a first for me. Usually it takes me a few days to get into the groove of NaNo. NaNo this month is falling right in line with my daily word count goal that I set for ROW 80 so it’s been good.
Not to mention, the original draft that I’m working on is a new writing project – a mystery thriller – for me and I’m really excited about it.
On the flip side, I haven’t worked on the revisions in a couple of weeks so I hope to get back to them.
In the moment, I’m going to return to my original draft for NaNo. I’m on my way to making my daily word count today so I want to get to it.
Wishing all you ROW80ers an amazing week of words and progress!
